About Us
The SEA provides networking opportunities for environmental groups in Portland and surrounding districts. Our member groups are listed in the member group section of this website. If you are interested in joining a local environmental group head over to the members page and check out each groups section. You will quickly note that each group has different passions and programs.
Network Meetings
The SEA committee host six SEA network meetings per calendar year. Each member group nominates a network leader to provide updates on their group’s programs and or projects, funds and activities / events. The purpose of these meetings is to ensure local groups are networking with one another regularly, have allocated time to identify opportunities and share resources and other useful information with one another.
Landcare Program
The SEA employees a Landcare Facilitator with funding it receives through the Victorian Landcare Facilitator Program. The SEA’s Landcare Facilitator runs an EOI program annually for landholders who are interested in improving the natural assets on their land. Our Landcare Facilitator also works with our member groups to develop sound natural resource management plans and programs. She attends the network meetings and provides support to groups looking for opportunities to secure funding, build partnerships and strengthen or initiate relationships.
