The Eumeralla Landcare Group provides support and networking opportunities to farmers and Macarthur residents who are interested in carrying out Landcare Projects. The group has supported many local farmers and landholders to deliver revegetation projects; including wildlife corridors and riparian rehabilitation projects and pest plant and animal control projects.
In the township of Macarthur, the group has been successful in securing grants to remove pest plants and to revegetate riparian areas of the Eumeralla River. The group has re instated indigenous riparian vegetation including the River Red Gum which is indigenous to the Macarthur area.
With assistance from the Macarthur Advancement Development Association (MADA) and Glenelg Hopkins Catchment Management, weed clearing is still underway on the southern town entrance along the Eumeralla River bank.
We are always looking for new members and volunteers to help with this ongoing project in our local area. For more information contact us on the details provided.
